Negotiation, merger, shifting economy, job security

Rich Delaney — Our Union and its Members are again facing a difficult road ahead and must decide which direction to follow. Contract negotiations, proposed mergers, a shifting economy, and the constant threat to our security from outside vendors are just some of the roadblocks we see in front of us. The struggle within our Union over the correct path to follow is as important to you, and every Member of District 141, as ever.
Energy, experience, transformation
You have a clear choice in this election and we urge you to support the candidates known as the New Direction. This team of experienced and energized representatives want to continue the transformation of our Union begun in the last election.
In some cases, they seek reelection to positions they currently hold and wish to continue serving our Members. Other members of the New Direction Team are running for District office for the first time and bring with them the strong desire to bring the experiences they have gained through their local responsibilities to the entire membership to complete the change in our Union started in 2008.
Forward, reverse
Candidates opposing the New Direction Team also seek change. However, they want to change back to a style of leadership that was totally rejected less than two years ago. Candidates that were unwanted by a majority of Members in 2008 are looking to return to power and resume the policies and approaches that caused so much pain and fear for our Members over the past decade.
